My First Video Upload to YouTube
kensai — Thu, 05/15/2008 - 18:37
I have just uploaded a video to YouTube, today. It really isn't that great, is just me playing neverball on Arch Linux, and I just even am not that good at it, you will notice, believe me. But what makes me feel proud is that all is done with Linux tools and on Arch Linux. I will keep playing and learning more of the tools that I used to make this video and then encode it on a size and format that would be easier to upload to YouTube.

Programming, Do I have what it... [Revisited]
kensai — Sat, 05/03/2008 - 15:47
Well, lets revisit this subject and see how I have progressed. Since I first wrote that I was going to begin learning programming, I did really started to learn programming using Ruby. Alongside with a great tutorial/book by Chris Pine (he names his kids after programming languages), programming seemed just fine for me. I got pretty good with Ruby, well not good enough to write a complicated program but I did understood most of the tutorial and even accomplished the exercises.

kensai — Sat, 04/19/2008 - 23:35
Well, once again, the web log was off line for most of the day because it was being upgraded to the latest version of Drupal 6.x series. I hope you didn't had any inconvenience because of this, sorry and thanks for your patience. Again the update was just a security update, but introduces some performance enhancements. Lets hope this all works out well.

I'm not Open Sourced Anymore.
kensai — Sun, 04/06/2008 - 17:20
Don't get your hopes too high proprietary software makers, I am not moving from Linux. I just am not open sourced myself. Yesterday, I took one of the most important decisions of my life, engaging to a beautiful woman. She now owns my license rights and everything of me. So, now I guess I'm patent encumbered!?

Without Internet Connection
kensai — Sat, 03/15/2008 - 20:41
You may have questions as to why I haven't posted to this web log for so long. Well, my ISP (one of the worst in the planet) has left me without Internet connection for some some weeks. I have had Internet access briefly for some minutes, or for a few hours at most in that period of time, but it wasn't enough to make it possible to me to do any serious work on the net. So thats why I haven't had time to release the newsletter in this past week, and haven't been able to do the necessary work to have it released for this next week, so I apologize.

Update to Drupal 6.1
kensai — Mon, 03/03/2008 - 18:09
Well, as you may have noticed, this web log went off the net for some hours. The reason being the imminent update to Drupal 6.1, which introduces some security fixes, and other small enhancements. It is the first time I update the web log myself, thanks Branko Vukelic for trusting me, I could have messed up your server and set it on fire in the process of upgrading everything, but the good news is; I didn't. So, we are back, let me check what's on the list now, the newsletter. Better go back to work. Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks to Each and Everyone of You...
kensai — Sun, 02/24/2008 - 21:36
The Arch Linux Newsletter, a responsibility I took in early October of 2007. It's been more than four months, and they've been a great four months. I have seen it evolve, from the simple and short newsletter the readers were used to, now being simple but larger, and more organized. It's been easy? I have to say, No!, I have gone through a lot, I'm not a native English speaker, it is my second language, and let me tell you the truth I'm not that good with my first language in the first place.

DRM-Free Music, Better for the Artists?
kensai — Fri, 02/22/2008 - 23:59
I like a band called Blindside, their music is inspiring, their sound and lyrics are unique. In fact, thats what I like in a rock band, originality and quality of lyrics above all. I tend to like European bands more than American bands because their music is, most of the time, unique. Truth needs to be said, a lot of American bands are unique as well. Hey, sorry, I'm breaking apart from my main point here. The point is the excerpt that follows.

Programming, Do I Have What it Takes?
kensai — Mon, 02/18/2008 - 15:48
Here is my story; I was raised having a computer in my house since my early years, when I was around 8-10 years old. It didn't took me long after that to find out that computers were of great interest to me, gaining knowledge about them and learning to fix them were my passions. But programming, it was never on my priorities list, not even when I was trying to learn the ways of a computer and its applications. In the past I always had the impression that programming was something tedious, and not something that I would enjoy, or even need on my life or career.

Drupal 6.0
kensai — Sun, 02/17/2008 - 09:31
Recently, my web log received an upgraded to Drupal 6.0, well... not an upgrade, it was more of a clean installation, an upgrade would have been much easier and I could've retained all my posts that way, but things didn't turned out the way they should. Because of that I have started my web log from scratch again, but at least this time I have a better theme, well at least in my opinion, feedback is always appreciated. Thanks Branko Vukelic as always for your great work and patience. Sorry guys for all the inconvenience, and thanks for understanding.
